Cots for Tots

Cots for Tots is Bristol's special care baby charity. The charity provides pioneering medical equipment and helps expert doctors and nurses care for over 800 babies born prematurely, or with life-threatening conditions, every year.

Your weekly participation provides a regular gift and is important to us in so many ways. For example, your support would add up to the cost of one night's family accommodation just by playing once a week for a year. Funding home-from-home accommodation right opposite the hospital allows parents and siblings to remain close to their child's bedside whilst they are being treated, as well as allowing them to get some much-needed rest.

"Our daughter Ellie arrived at just 24 weeks and was transferred to Bristol for lifesaving surgery. Hayley and I were very worried about where we would stay. We were immediately welcomed to Cots for Tots house. It was such a relief to be given free a free place to stay, located right by the hospital." - Jonathan

Thank you for your amazing support and good luck in the Cots for Tots Lotto!

Life

LIFE believes that women who are faced with a crisis pregnancy should be given as much emotional, practical and financial support - including housing - as is necessary, to support them throughout their pregnancy and beyond.

LIFE shows confidence in young people and strives to empower them with a true sense of their self-worth and a full appreciation of the importance of loving, stable and faithful relationships.

We do this through our three core services:

  • LIFE Housing provides accommodation and a full support service for pregnant women and unsupported mothers aged between 16-25 years in the UK.
  • LIFE Education provides young people with up-to-date, evidence-based information and inspires students to think for themselves on issues such as relationships, abortion, sexual health, medical ethics and other related topics.

Sands – Saving Babies’ Lives, Supporting Bereaved Families

Sands

Together, with your support we will save babies’ lives and support bereaved families.

Currently in the UK, 13 families a day suffer the heartbreak of losing their baby before, during or shortly after birth. And an estimated 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage.

But together, we can make a difference.

By donating, you are helping to transform society and build a world where fewer babies die; a legacy for the memory of every baby who has died and the life of every baby yet to be born.

Sands is determined to save every life we can, and we will make sure that the right care and support is there for every bereaved family, whenever and wherever they need it.

Thank you for helping us be there for every baby and for every family.

The Fertility Foundation

Each year millions of people find out they will need to undergo fertility treatment to start or extend their family. Many of those will receive little or no NHS funding for their fertility treatment.

Play our lottery so we can continue our work to provide IVF grants and fertility support.

Tiny Tickers

Thank you for signing up to take part in our weekly lottery and helping make a big difference for babies with serious heart conditions, their families and the health professionals who care for them.

One in every 125 babies is born with a serious heart condition - that’s one every two hours. The early detection of their condition is vital to give these babies the best start in life. But sadly, 1000 newborns with heart conditions are sent home from UK hospitals every year with no-one knowing they are gravely ill.

Many will fall into heart failure before getting the treatment they need and sadly, some won’t make it back to hospital in time. Tiny Tickers is changing that.

Our mission is that every heart baby receives a diagnosis as soon as medically possible and that their family gets the support they need. We do this by training the sonographers who carry out pregnancy scans to have the skills and confidence to detect heart defects, placing potentially life-saving equipment in maternity units and supporting families through the most difficult of journeys..

None of this would be possible without our generous supporters. Thank you for making a big difference.

Twins Trust

Twins Trust is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to improving the lives of thousands of families with twins, triplets or higher multiples.

Having children is an amazing experience but it is incredibly hard work. The families we support face double or triple the work - the challenges of feeding more than one baby, double the nappies, double the clothes, double the lack of sleep, double the time taken just to get out the front door......

But they also face more specific problems:

Mums expecting twins or more are at a far higher risk of developing complications during pregnancy
Their babies have almost a 50:50 chance of spending time in a special care baby unit
Twins are 4 times more likely to die during pregnancy compared to a single baby
Parents of multiples are more likely to suffer financial strain and separate or divorce
Mums have twice the risk of developing Post Natal Depression

To support these families Twins Trust provides:

  • Antenatal and parenting classes
  • A confidential, free-phone helpline
  • An on-line social networking community and a national network of twins clubs
  • Specialist support groups including the Bereavement Support Group, Single Parent Support Group, Special Needs Support Group and the Super Twin Support Group for families with triplets or more.
  • We also undertake research and campaigning to help improve the lives of families with twins, triplets or more.
  • Information booklets and factsheets

Playing the Twins Trust Lottery will help us continue to provide this vital support. Thank you.
