Open Door Charity is committed to providing free, fast and effective mental health support to young people across Merseyside. We provide our programmes without long waiting lists or lengthy referrals, and currently support over 100 young people every week, experiencing
symptoms of anxiety, depression and low mood.
We exist to shape meaningful change in mental health by creating inclusive communities, joyful places and evidence-based programmes that empower people to be mentally well. What Open Door do first-hand in Merseyside, we share with others, inspiring change across the UK. Our flagship service Bazaar is an eight week peer-support programme, shown to significantly reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and is available to anyone between the ages of 14 and 35. By blending elements of CBT, mindfulness and more, Bazaar gives young people the tools to control and combat negative though patterns, and often has powerful, life changing outcomes for our members.
“It has changed my life and wellbeing completely. I rarely go into my extremely negative anxiety mode anymore, as I have developed useful skills throughout the Bazaar programme on how to cope with life stresses whether they are little or large. I am living life properly now with little fear or worry.”
