The Kent MS Therapy Centre is a local independent charity that exists to improve the lives of people with MS in Kent. We do this by providing a range of therapies and support clinics for those affected by this debilitating disease, their families and carers.
The Centre is one of the few places in the South East to offer specialist hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO). Oxygen therapy is not a cure for MS, but it can certainly be effective in alleviating some of the symptoms such as fatigue, bladder urgency and general mobility. Additional oxygen can extend the body's ability to heal and can limit some of the damage which the condition causes.
There are a number of therapies that have proved valuable in combating the symptoms of MS. The Centre provides all the necessary equipment as well as qualified staff to administer and supervise as necessary.
MS is often thought to be an older person's condition but that isn't the case, in fact it is the most commonly diagnosed neurological condition in young people.
The Centre is completely self-funded and relies entirely on Fundraising activities and donations to raise the £300k needed each year to operate.
