Account Set-Up

I’ve received an email notifying me that I have had a new account created for the Unity Dashboard, what do I do now?

Your Unity Dashboard user account has been created and you now need to complete the set up by creating a secure password and setting up Two Factor Authentication.Once you click the link in the Account Registration email you will be taken to the Unity Dashboard log in page. When logging in for the first time you will need to click the ‘Forgot password’ link to set your password for the first time.

You will receive an email to confirm your password has been changed/set and then you can visit the log in page to set up Two Factor Authentication.

If you have any problems completing the set-up of your account, please contact the Unity Team.

What is Two Factor Authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA), also known as two-step verification or multi-factor authentication (MFA), is a security process that adds an extra layer of protection to online accounts beyond just a username and password. It requires users to provide two different forms of identification to verify their identity when logging in, making it much harder for unauthorised users to access accounts, even if they have the password.

By requiring two different forms of identification, 2FA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access, even if a password is stolen or compromised. It's a highly recommended security practice for all online accounts, especially those containing sensitive information.

How do I set up Two Factor Authentication?

When you complete the set up of your user account and you log in for the first time, you will be asked to set up Two Factor Authentication (2FA). You can do this using a 2FA application on a mobile device or your browser. You will be given instructions on the screen to complete set up, but if you have any problems please contact the Unity Team.

When I set up my Two Factor Authentication, I am given a set of Recovery Codes what are these?

The Recovery Codes are there to help you if you ever lose access to your Two Factor Authentication and you need to reset it. You can securely save this list of Recovery Codes and if you ever encounter any issues with your Two Factor Authentication, you can use one of these Recovery Codes to access the Unity Dashboard and reset your Two Factor Authentication.

Account Management

Can I create new users on our cause dashboard account?

No, all new user accounts must be requested from the Unity Team. Once the account has been created you will be able to manage it from your Unity Dashboard.

Who can suspend/unsuspend user accounts?

Any user on your Unity Dashboard and all members of the Unity Team have the ability to suspend and unsuspend other user accounts.

Your account will also be automatically suspended after 90 days of inactivity.

My account is suspended, what should I do?

You will have received an email notifying you about your account suspension. This email states who suspended your account. You can contact the person who suspended your account, or the Unity Team, to request for your account to be reinstated.

How can I suspend/unsuspend a user account?

You can view all user accounts with access to your Unity Dashboard via the ‘User Profile’ section in the top right-hand corner dropdown menu. Click on your name and you will see ‘User Profiles’. Here you can manage users’ status and view their activity by clicking on the ‘Options’ dropdown menu.

If a user’s account has been automatically suspended due to inactivity, they will need to contact the Unity team to unsuspend the account.

Why has my user account been suspended?

Your account may have been suspended due to inactivity or another user of your Unity Dashboard may have deemed your access is no longer required/suspended your access accidentally. The email you receive will state who has suspended your account so you can contact them.

Where can I edit my user profile?

You can edit your user profile via the ‘My Account’ section on the top right-hand corner dropdown menu. Click on your name and you will see ‘My Account’. Here you can update your name, job title, and change your password.

I have forgotten my user account password, how do I reset it?

You can reset your password from the first login in screen by clicking the ‘Forgot Your Password’ link. You will then receive an email with further instructions. If you receive an email notifying you that your password has changed and you did not request this change, please contact the Unity Team as soon as possible.

Cause Profile

The name of our cause has changed, how can update this?

Unfortunately this cannot be changed via your Unity Dashboard. Please contact the Unity Team regarding any changes to your cause. The reason for this is so that the team can make sure we have the correct details across the entirety of our lottery system.

We have been sent an email notifying us that our licence/registration is due to expire, what should we do?

You can review your license/registration expiry date via the ‘Cause Profile’ section on the top right-hand corner dropdown menu. You will receive an email one month before your license/registration is due to expire - this is to remind you to renew your license/registration in time. If you do not have an active license/registration Unity will be required to suspend your lottery draws as this is required to operate your lottery compliantly.

You will need to contact your licencing authority to review your license/registration. Please be aware that not all local authorities issue renewal reminders, so please make sure to reach out to them.

We have a new licence/registration, how do I update this?

Once you have confirmation of your renewed license/registration, please update the expiry date in your ‘Cause Profile’ and send a copy of your confirmation to the Unity Team so they can make sure the correct information is displayed on your Unity cause and payment pages.
