At the heart of our mission is the belief that no kidney patient should face their journey alone. That’s why we offer a dedicated Peer Support Service, where trained kidney patients and carers provide one-to-one advice, emotional support, and shared understanding to those newly diagnosed or navigating life with kidney failure.
For those needing additional support, our professional Counselling Service is available completely free of charge.
Our Peer Support Service is more than just a listening ear – it’s a vital hub of information, guidance, and life-enhancing opportunities, including:
- Peer Mentoring: Talk to someone who has walked in your shoes.
- Free Counselling: Professional emotional support when you need it most.
- Signposting to Local Support: Through trusted community partnerships, we connect patients with local services to improve patient’s daily lives.
- Welfare Advice: Expert guidance on benefits and entitlements.
- Patient Grants: Financial assistance to help relieve practical burdens.
- Educational Talks Across Wales: Stay informed and empowered.
- Dedicated Staff Resources: Here to help every step of the way.
We also proudly fund and support wellbeing projects that bring joy, connection, and health to kidney patients of all ages. These include:
- An Annual Activity Weekend for children and young people with chronic and end-stage kidney disease.
- A Christmas/New Year Family Day Out for children and their families.
- Support to Participate in the Transplant Games – promoting fitness, confidence, and community spirit.
Our goal is simple: to help kidney patients live fuller, healthier lives. Whether it's through emotional support, physical activity, or simply sharing a laugh with someone who understands, we’re here to help every step of the way. Because no one should go through kidney disease alone.
