About your Good Cause
The Lingen Davies Cancer Fund is an independent charity dedicated to supporting quality cancer care. It was originally launched in 1979 to raise funds to build and equip a new radiotherapy department in Shrewsbury.
Since then the charity has continued to improve facilities for cancer patients in Shropshire and Mid Wales through the funding of equipment and buildings. It is dedicated to ensuring that patients are treated and diagnosed in the best environment possible.
In 2012 the charity funded over £3.5m towards the new Cancer and Haematology Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Without the work of Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, some cancer treatments may never have been delivered locally.
Lingen Davies Cancer Fund has pledged to raise £750,000 by the end of 2016 to help fund an additional world class linear accelerator (LINAC) for the Cancer and Haematology Centre at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Your lottery contribution will help ensure that cancer patients in Shropshire and Mid Wales can receive their treatment as close to home as possible.
