Herriot Hospice Homecare needs to raise over £750,000 next year to maintain our hospice services across Hambleton and Richmondshire in North Yorkshire, a rural area of over 1,000 square miles. All of our services are provided free of charge.
On average we support 500 patients and their families per year by providing valuable services such as:
- Sitting Service which provides a team of trained volunteers to sit with patients in their own homes giving carers a chance to have a break.
- Driving Service which provides volunteer drivers to help people who do not have access to private transport when travelling by ambulance is inappropriate.
- Therapy Service which offers aromatherapy, reflexology and acupuncture sessions which relieve the side effects of treatments for life limiting diseases.
- Bereavement Service which offers counselling sessions to anyone who has suffered a recent bereavement.
Thanks to all of our staff, volunteers and supporters we are able to continue to provide a high standard of quality and care to people who need it most.
