Nelson's Journey

Nelson's Journey supports children under 18 years who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or other significant person in their life. The charity which provides a service for in excess of 100 bereaved children and their families a year, aims to improve the mental health of bereaved children by increasing their self confidence and self belief, enabling families to talk openly about death and bereavement and for children to express and understand their emotions.

Nelson's Journey offers a range of services to bereaved children and their families including: through assessment of a child's bereavement needs, advice and information services available to families at and around the time of death, 1:1 therapeutic support and therapeutic weekend camps for those aged 6-13 yrs and 14-17 yrs. The weekends provide children with an opportunity to meet others who have been bereaved, share their experiences and remember the person who has died.
