SSAFA Forces Help is the national charity providing welfare support to our Armed Forces, to those who have served and the families of both. Each year in Cumbria, through our network of trained volunteers, we assist over 500 people in need of help. Please help us to provide this much needed service to those who have served our country.
In 2010 SSAFA Forces Help celebrates 125 years of service to our Armed Forces. The need for a welfare charity like SSAFA is as great now as at any time in the past. SSAFA Forces Help continues to be relevant, it delivers support and it is inclusive.
There are many reasons for helping SSAFA Forces Help to help others – here are but three of them:
- The assistance we provide is shaped and tailored to the needs of the Armed Forces and the changing needs of veterans and their families of all generations.
- Each year we deliver real practical, financial and emotional support to over 50,000 people.
- Our help is available to anyone who has served in our Armed Forces and their families.
SAFA Forces Help supports people through a network of professionally trained volunteers and staff who together provide a reliable, caring, dignified, confidential and trusted service. Each week SSAFA helps almost 1,000 people including the widows and widowers of veterans, Reservists and National Servicemen and their families.
Without the continuing support and generosity of people like you SSAFA Forces Help could not continue to offer this vital service to those who need our help.
