About your Good Cause
The North Hampshire Medical Fund raises funds for specialist medical equipment that the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospitals could not otherwise afford. Access to new equipment helps to improve diagnosis and treatment, train medical staff in the most up to date procedures, and enables the hospital to attract the best consultants in order to ensure a better quality of care. Charitable donations therefore remain vitally important in order to keep the NHS at the forefront of medical diagnosis, treatment and research.
The North Hampshire Medical Fund was established in 1981 by the late Earl of Carnarvon. His wife, Jeanie, Countess of Carnarvon, continues to have a role as Patron of the charity. It was founded with three aims:
- To raise money to provide additional equipment in Basingstoke Hospital to supplement those provided by the Health Service
- To ensure that the latest high technology equipment is available for the examination and treatment of patients
- To promote medical research, education and care
