Ostomy Lifestyle supports anyone affected by stoma surgery on their bowl or bladder. We provide impartial advice, frank information, and emotional support when they need it, and where they need it.
Ostomy Lifestyle operates a variety of free services:
- Free & Confidential Helpline Helpline operators have all experienced stoma surgery and have received extensive training in stoma care and helpline skills. 0800 731 4264 or advice@ostomylifestyle.org (Mon-Fri 10am- 3pm)
- Ostomy News our free, quarterly newsletter, available on paper or via email
- Patient Information Sheets on topics such as Healthy Eating, Travel, Stoma Appliances and many more
- Lifestyle Cards available in many different languages, useful for travel and security situations
- Patient Workshops to help people understand more about living with a stoma
- Presence at Open Days and support group meetings to meet patients face-to-face.
We also carry out extra activities
- Annual Underwear and Swimwear Show, to promote body confidence and positive image of stoma surgery
- Ostomy Lifestyle Awards recognising excellence and commitment throughout the stoma care sector.
- Training Sessions for industry, healthcare and support organisations for developing and improving patient care.
